How to Save Photos to the SIM Card on My Samsung Omnia

The Samsung Omnia is a smartphone that runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. It has a customizable touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 5.0 megapixel camera with auto-focus, camcorder, slide show and editing capabilities. The Omnia saves its photos and videos to the MicroSD and offers the option to save limited information on its internal memory. The Samsung Omnia reserves the SIM Card’s smaller storage availability for the contacts and calling data. It does not allow photos and videos to be saved to the card.

Difficulty:Moderately Easy1
Change the default storage folder if you do not want the photos and videos stores in the MicroSD DCIM folder. Go to the home screen, or Today screen, and press the camera button at the lower right side of the screen. Look at the top left corner of the screen to determine if you are in camera or camcorder mode. Tap the icon to select the mode in which you want to change folder settings.
2
Select the settings icon at the bottom left corner and select the option icon on the screen’s top right corner. Choose the My Storage option in the Default Storage location and select OK. Choose the desired default storage location in the window and confirm the choice by selecting OK. Repeat the process to change the remaining camera or camcorder default storage location.
3
Transfer pictures that are saved on the Omnia’s internal, built-in memory. Go to the Today screen and select Programs. Choose the File Explorer icon and select the My Documents folder from the drop-down list.
4
Select the My Pictures folder to move pictures, or the My Video folder to move videos. Select the photos or videos that you want to move and hold down the selections until you get a pop-up. Select the Copy option from the pop-up window and tap on the selected pictures or videos.
5
Choose the My Pictures option, or the My Videos option, and select the Storage Card option. Touch the blank white area in the window and select the Paste option to move your selections to the memory card. Tap, hold and scroll through the pictures or videos to move multiple pictures or videos simultaneously.
