Android Vs. OS X

Most electronic devices today use operating systems. Many famous versions of an operating system, or OS, exist, such as Windows, Mac OS and Android. Different operating systems serve different purposes and may not be cross-compatible with other devices or software. Iphones and iPads use iOS, while Mac computers use OS X. Many mobile phones use Android, and many personal computers use Windows.
Each operating system has drawbacks and benefits, depending on what type of device you intend to use it with.
Owned and developed by Google, Android had its beginnings in a small company named Android, Inc., which made software for cell phones. Through years of development, Google refined Android into an operating system for mobile phones and eventually into an OS for tablet PCs. As an open source project, meaning that developers can freely examine Android's source code, Android provides users with a host of apps, development tool, and Wi-Fi and Internet access.
Unlike Apple's OS X, Google Android remains completely open-source, allowing unlimited possibilities for developers. Using the Java programming language as its basis along with several development tool kits from Google, an individual can easily create new apps and even customize the Android environment itself. However, while simple, Android does possess a learning curve just as other electronics do, especially for those who may never have used computing devices before.
Using the UNIX programing language as a foundation, OS X is an operating system developed by Apple for Mac computers. Preceded by other versions of Mac OS, Apple's OS X resembles the look and feel of older versions while adding many new interface features for users and performance-boosting effects for the hardware. Apple advertises OS X and Mac together as a functional system, as “hardware and software made for each other.”
OS X strives to provide ease of use for consumers and possesses a very small learning curve. OS X also provides users with many “intuitive” gestures on the trackpad, designed to make common tasks, such as zooming or navigating between windows, faster. OS X makes finding and switching between apps easy and fast, where on Android you may have to sort through a long list of installed apps. OS X also provides users with an easy way to locate files and folders on a computer. While Apple produces other OS versions for other electronic devices, you cannot use OS X with phones or tablet devices.
