How to System Dump on an Android

Perform a system dump to clear your Droid of personal data. With a mobile phone that runs the Android operating system, you are able to perform a "system dump" (or a "hard reset") on the device. Performing this procedure clears it of any data that you stored on the device, such as text messages and pictures. It also removes any applications that you installed on the device, and resets the settings, something you may want if the phone is going to someone else secondhand.

Difficulty:Easy1
Close any open applications by clicking "Close" or "Exit" in that application. You will return to the device's home screen.
2
Tap "Menu," "Settings," and "SD & Storage."
3
Tap "Factory Data Reset" and tap "Yes" when asked whether you want to "erase all the data."
4
Tap "Reset Phone." The device will erase all data and restore your Android phone to its original factory condition.
