How to Check Hotmail on Android Phone

 Connect to Hotmail with POP3 or Exchange ActiveSync. Exchange ActiveSync for Windows Live Hotmail allows Android users to sync email, contacts and calendar with an online Hotmail account. Your device must run Android 2.2 or newer to connect to Hotmail through Exchange ActiveSync. Android devices running Android 2.1 or earlier can connect to Hotmail through POP3.

Press the “Menu” button and tap “Settings.” Tap “Accounts & Sync.” Touch “New Account.”

Touch “Corporate” or “Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync,” depending upon the model of your device. Enter your Hotmail email address and password. Tap “Next.”

Enter your Hotmail email address into the “Domain/Username” text field. Enter “m.hotmail.com” into the “Server” text field. Tap the “Use Secure Connection (SSL)” and the “Accept All SSL Certificates” boxes. Touch “Next.”

Select the refresh frequency from the “Email Checking Frequency” drop-down menu. Check “Notify Me When Email Arrives,” “Sync Contacts From This Account” and “Sync Calendar From This Account.” Press “Next.”

Enter a name for the account, such as “Hotmail Account” or “Personal Email.” Press “Done.” Check your Hotmail correspondence from the combined inbox in the Android Email app.

Open the Application Drawer and scroll to the “Email” icon. Tap it.

Press the “Menu” button and tap “Accounts.” Press the “Menu” button and touch “Add Account.”

Enter your Hotmail email address and password. Touch “Next.” Android automatically configures your email account with the correct Hotmail settings.

Enter a name for the account. Tap “Done.” Use the combined inbox in the Android Email app to check your Hotmail correspondence.
You can download a Microsoft Hotmail app from the Android Market that lets you use Exchange ActiveSync on Android 2.1 devices.
